My yoga journey
I discovered yoga in 2004, but life as an illustrator and writer kept me too busy to maintain a regular practice. Everything changed in 2008 when my father passed away. The grief blurred my worldview—I couldn't sleep, and depression took hold.
Through reading and introspection, I began a spiritual journey, searching for the purpose and meaning of human life. I returned to yoga and started visiting meditation centers in India, Japan, Germany, and vipassana centers in Hong Kong.
This path led me to complete my first 200-hour Hatha teacher training with Master Yogannanth Andiappan in 2010, followed by 300 hours of advanced training. In 2017, I discovered Ashtanga yoga with Nigel Marshall, and in 2019 began studying with Clayton Horton, completing my 200-hour Ashtanga certification in 2021. My most recent training was with Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor in 2023.
My teaching philosophy
My teaching emphasizes steadiness, awareness, and respect for individual experience. I approach yoga as a practical and transformative discipline that supports both physical health and mental well-being when practiced with sincerity and patience.
My classes integrate therapeutic elements such as mindful movement, breath awareness, and deep relaxation, helping to ease stress, support emotional balance, and cultivate mental clarity. Each session is guided with care and sensitivity, allowing students to work within their own capacity.
I aim to create calm, focused, and accessible classes that offer a safe and supportive space for students to reconnect with their breath, body, and inner balance.
“My classes are suitable for a wide range of students, including beginners, experienced practitioners, seniors, and individuals with specific physical or emotional needs.”
Teaching Experience
My teaching experience started from 2011. I taught different types of students, including children with autism, cancer survivors, and elderly people.
I have also led yoga workshops, Tibetan singing bowls sound bath events, and yoga retreats.
I am currently a teacher at Sora Yoga Studio, and am also a Mysore Room Assistant under Clayton Horton at Pure Yoga.
